Evaluate My Cv Format And Content

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
With zillions of CV formats and an equal number of contradictions, I am a little confused as to what kind of CV would serve me best. After countless revisions, I have developed a sort of blindness towards my CV where i can no longer see its merits or de-merits.

Unfortunately, it doesnt seem that i can upload a word file in here to get your comments on the design and layout. Please find below the major parts of my resume and give me your input about the features, language, structure and whatever else you can find in here. Thanks in advance.

Amir
PS: It would help ff anybody can help with a file sharing site where a word document can be uploaded.

There is only one CV or resume format you need to worry about. The Universal, Targeting, Reverse Chronological format. You can download a temaple from this page
    https://www.jobsviatheweb.com/

Please do not confuse CV formats - US CV with the UK CV. The UK CV is very similar to the US resume. The UK CV should not be written on more than 2 pages unless you are posting it to a job agency or maybe working within a few specific organisations. Generally speaking the supporting letter should be targeted to a specific job application. The UK CV should be targeted towards the appropriate job area.

    Hi Amir

Firstly like Juliet I too would like to wish you the best of luck with regards receiving feedback on your CV.

You will be relieved to know that your question is not uncommon. Unfortunately even in this modern era there is a real lack of education when it comes to writing CV's.

What I am about to tell you will hopefully help.

Did you know that recruiters don’t even see your CV in the same format that you created it in. All those hours spent agonising over what looks good are wasted.

I am still amazed at how large the percentage of people building emails don’t actually know this fact. There is a real lack of education within this country concerning the correct way to build a CV.

It is not common knowledge yet that spending time on beautifully designed CVs is not the best use of a your time! These days, when a CV is sent to major recruitment agencies, the initial eye appeal no longer matters because the document is processed before anyone in a decision-making role even sees it. The key information contained in the CV is extracted, reformatted and placed in a database where it can more easily be searched and accessed by recruiters and hirers. So everything but the raw information is discarded: the CV template you so carefully selected, the headings, subheadings and formatting, the design layout... everything but text is removed during extraction and reformatting.

So you see Amir all the trials and tribulations associated with constructing the perfect CV is a terrible waste of time and energy.

CV’s have moved into the 21st Century and they now come in the form of what is called an iProfile.

So what is an iProfile. Well in its simplest form your iProfile is an online CV. This online CV contains precise definitions of your skills, qualifications and experiences in a format that the recruitment industry has adopted as a standard.

This is all very well I hear you say but, if nobody knows about this new era of cv writing then surely I’m better off just using my traditional word doc CV, right?

    Wrong!
Nearly half of the largest UK recruitment companies have adopted the iProfile and over 2 million candidates now hold an iProfile. This number is growing rapidly on a daily basis.
Not only can you build , manage and update your CV online with ease but you can track which recruiters have chosen to use your CV.
For more information take at look at the iprofile site. The whole process is completely free.
Hope this has helped and good luck with your Job search!
