Pay For Pr Reprints To Frame For Office

Posted by KathyAd on 25 Points
I have been in companies that have framed reprints of their press coverage on the wall. Years ago, companies I worked for would order reprints of good press coverage. But these days, we just print our press coverage off the web.

Does anyone know if you can order single reprints? Or if I should just order a back issue? I know we could also print it from the web, but then it will look low-res and cheap. We want to frame these and hang them in our lobby. Thanks!!

it depends on the publication. Many publications either have an internal department that handles reprinits or contract with a third party company to do so.

Phil is right, go to the magazine and they'll send you the reprint. Most do have either an internal or they outsource this. Every time I have had an article published in a trade mag, I have been contacted asking if I want reprints-- or even one -- in their frame or ready for framing.

You'll probably get better quality from the publisher, but they are usually not set up to do single copies.

As far as copyright goes - you are permitted to make "individual professional reference" copies - which would cover perhaps a few - such as a framed one and one or two sent to colleagues/clients.

Framed articles on the wall are like press releases on your website - after two years - get rid of them - because they then appear really dated - and give the impression that your company is too.
