Emergency Clearance Sale

We are a specialty children's store that sells name brand shoes and toys. We have found ourselves in an inventory overstock situation (mostly on the shoe side)and need to run an unusually quick and effective clearance sale to raise funds. I need a quick, to the point tag line to advertise the clearance sale, without sounding too tacky, but resonating urgency. I plan to use direct mail, signage and in-store materials to advertise. Any ideas???

    If the matter is that serious, I think you need a headline, not a tag line.

    "Our accountant says we have to sell"

    "The bank says quit stock, so we are slashing prices"

    "For the lowest prices on kid's shoes, walk this way".

    "Top quality kids shoes at bottom dollar prices is child's play"

    You can also try a couple of sales...one with a time limit like so

    "The 12 Hour Sale, everything in the store 50% off! Only until Sunday"

    then proceed to list items that are normally in highest demand and emphasize the savings and discount they can expect to see. Whatever you so, make sure you do not imply you are blowing everything out as in out of business. The message should be something that gives the vustomer the feeling that you have done this before and do it perhaps annually as one idea.

    "The Annual 48 hour Sale, Everything must go!"
    Somthing about making way for new product".

    The time limit idea will give a sense of urgency while not comprimising your companies perceived stability as some blow out sales tend to do, so the product will still be quality and worth purchasing.

    You may also want to try a google radio ads, those are fairly inexpesive and your message can be blasted all over your area. You can blast for a short while and get your results. Give the conusmer a reason to come by!

    Second you can try boasting an event at your store, such as donating small proceeds to a fundraiser for breast cancer, this may help you touch more of a variety of consumers who will be sure to give a much needed word of mouth to their friends and family, and you will be helping the comunity. Once you have your sale idea, market and market. Google is good for ad words, put apage for this sale as an ad and purchase soe ad words, mail an email to your customers if you have this ability. If not, start spreading the word any way you are able.
