Have you considered WAP Advertising? This reaches a wider demographic and you can utilize the technology for special offers, new products etc... Plus with the ever increasing use of Datamatrix coding, you can offer people direct access to the sites but printing a QR code on your marketing materials. Try looking at Wapple.net

Here are "The Great Myths About Buying Your Flooring Online"
    https://www.floormall.com/myths.php

which will tell you about the concerns people have. As for uniqueness, you need to identify who your competitors are, what they offer (and for how much), who you're trying to attract, and identify unmet needs (whether it be service, selection, warranty, etc.)

    Hi,

First of all my best wishes for your new initiatives.

I really have no clue on buying behaviour of those customers who do online buying of flooring but have gained some knowledge on e commerce industry during my various jobs.

I have few questions that may help you to get the right site done for you:-

1- Who are your target customers ?
    - End User
    - Dealers
    - Corporate Buyers like builders etc
    - Others []

2- What these buyers are looking for or what's their priority ?
    - Product Knowledge
    - Low Price Solution
    - Variety and Options available
    - Others

3- What can be the possible questions of these buyers based on the Industry ?
    - Who will do the fittings ?
    - Are there any local representative in my area ?
    - Is there any Guarantee associated with it and how to avail it ?
    - and such questions

Now Design your online store on these grounds like:-

Give them an option to sort the product as per their requirement and while showing a product show them an option of Good, Better and Best like www.supercircuits.com to help them with their decisions.

If I have to buy I will be more concerned about the fittings of these flooring's. Try to answer these worries of buyers and possible give them a solution with your own tie ups and for other possible queries arrange a FAQ.

There can be many things but it will depend upon the thought process and budget.

    Best of luck
    Gaurav

Hi, thank you very much for your time and thoughts, to answer some of your questions:
Who are your target customers ?both end users and corporate , but mainly end users who are doing the floor by themselves.

2- What these buyers are looking for or what's their priority ?I think they are looking for both variety and low price.

3- What can be the possible questions of these buyers based on the Industry ?
The questions may be product related and may be terms and conditions related, we are working on a very log list of FAQ so this is covered,

Looking forward to hearing the rest of your suggestions.

Since you are targeting the "Do It Yourselfer" I would suggest including a how to section on your website. Create some very helpful pointers, tuttorials, etc. This will drive people to your site. This can be done in a blog or just through content. People are more comfortable buying from people they view as knowlegeable.

    Mike
