Grand Opening Weekend

Hi everyone
I'm planning a Grand Opening Weekend For a Client, can anyone suggest any fun ideas that we can incorporate? It's for a retail store.
We'd like to build up anticipation for the event and do the weekend celebration from thurs to sat

    Food, games, music, giveaways depending on what kind of store.
    For example, if it is a sporting goods store, then have some baseball or basketball shots.

    Who are you trying to get into the store? What are you selling? That would get you better answers.
