Help With Catchy Headline

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am writing copy for a product improvement release in the pump industry. The improvement involves increased suction lift which is very important to our customers. I am thinking of something like... This Pump Really Sucks..bus having second thoughts. Any suggestions for clever headlines?

Thanks in advance for your help.

For reference...
Suction Lift - Applied to surface pumps: Vertical distance from the surface of the water in the source, to a pump located above surface pump located above. This distance is limited by physics to around 20 feet at sea level (subtract 1 ft. per 1000 ft. altitude) and should be minimized for best results

Pump Up the Water (take off of Pump Up the Volume)

Your customers don't really care about suction (the technology) - they care about lift (the benefit). For example, "Do You Need A Bigger Lift?"

You could just use "Pump Up the Volume" since your pump will increase the volume of water moved.

Are these pumps used for drainage or for keeping water moving to its usage point, or multiple applications?

I'd think about the end result of the suction/lift benefit: keeping your basement dry better, increased pressure at the showerhead, or whatever, and create a headline spotlighting that solution to the customer's problem. So, answer the question, "Current pump technology only accomplishes X, but this new technology will allow Y." What is Y? Now write your headline around that.
