Startup Home And Garden E-zine Needs Opinions

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Hello!
I am starting a home and garden e-zine, and have finished most of the layout but only some of the content. Before I go too much further on this pet project of mine, I thought I would get a few opinions about the look and feel of the site. My target audience is the regular men and women out there who would like to kick it up a notch, without having to tighten their belts. Any feedback and/or advice would be greatly appreciated. The web address is: yourheavenlyhaven.com. Thanks in advance for your input.

Your JPG images need to be optimized for screen display. They take too long to load.

Add (Google) analytics to measure traffic.

On non-home pages, your banner doesn't have anything on it besides your logo. On your home page, the banner doesn't say anything specifically on who you're targeting or what your site is about.

Your Home link (on non-home pages) isn't integrated into your main menu bar.

Thank you for the response. What do I need to do to optimize the JPG images?

The problem is you're resizing a high-resolution image. Instead, transform your image (ideally, to a slightly lower resolution) but the proper final size (which will download faster). One free online tool that can help is: https://snipshot.com/

    Tim,
You are off to a good start. I like your living on mac and cheese comments...

You need to work on something that makes you different, so people will talk about you and come back time after time.

Livin' on Mac & Cheese section has that kind of ring...
