Sales Kit Components -- Do I Have Everything?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am writing the sales kit for an Internet brand development company. We will be giving it to prospective clients. I have included the following:

1) Cover page
2) Company overview
3) Product sheets for each of our 4 major services
4) Client case studies
5) Price list
6) Contacts

Do I have my bases covered here? If not, what else would you recommend?

As a creative company, I see nothing compelling in this sales kit to wow a client - just more of the same. There sounds like no (presented) reason to consider your company over competitors - just price shop. Give them a reason to engage in conversation. If you must provide some paper - keep it short, "elusive" and answer WIIFM to encourage conversation.

I personally would not include pricing until asked specifically after you've been able to discuss their needs. This helps separate the tire kickers from seriously interested persons.

There is an interesting read at www.winwithoutpitching.com. It basically describes about not giving away information to win a sale.

Also be able to provide it as a PDF (for download/emailing)

Lead with strong examples, not with company history (grab their attention first)

    Videos of your case studies?

    I would include:

    1) A difference page (what makes you stand out - not what you do but the way you do it that makes you special)

    2) a list of products and services

    3) case studies

    4) testimonials

    5) process description (how you work your magic)

    6) your story (if it's compelling, tell it!)

    7) FAQs

    8) checklists or helpful tools (like worksheets or calculators)

Thanks to all for the well thought out responses. Truly great feedback. Phil G, I especially appreciate your input on design, organization and concise content. In addressing these issues, the result (I hope) should be to effectively engage my audience. Thanks again everyone!
