    Advertising and promotions is bringing a service to the attention of potential and current customers. Advertising and promotions are best carried out by implementing an advertising and promotions plan.

    Advertising differs for each business. Some may benefit from search engine ads, some from social networks, some from news sites, some only from local papers, some from billboards, still others from TV spots. What advertising is good and what forms are out there (they're almost endless) depends entirely on your business and the best ways to reach your target customer.

    If you don't have a good understanding of ways to reach your target customer (or even who your target is/should be), it sounds like you should contract with a advertising/PR firm that can help you make a campaign happen.

    You advertise in everything you do-- from your sign on the door, to your business card and stationary to taking an add in the newspaper. Every outward way you express your business is advertising!
