Hire a bunch of kids to help apply labels.
Use an indicia to save you the time to apply stamps.
Get lists of home owners from the county.

I suggest you visit the website of the Direct Marketing Association. They have a lot of ideas and resources to help you get started.

The National Mail Order Association (NMOA) also has information and help for small to mid-size companies. [URL deleted by staff -- PLEASE follow our forum guidelines and use your Profile page for this info.]

If you want to do a saturated mailing to an entire county, you will need to go with a shared direct mailing, like ADVO, or ValPak. The NMOA has an industry contact directory in their bookstore that would be good for you. It has all the connections you need to do direct mailings.

Mailing is sooo cost ineffective these days. I would recommend you doing a voice broadcast. I think you can select a city or state, or in the case of businesses you can select the industry by SIC codes. There is a company that provides the leads for Free! You can get more info here:

    Hello,

You are getting some great advise here.

What is your product or service? What is the offer?

The whole premise of DM is to mail less not more.

I have a pretty extensive network of companies that can help you without charging an arm or leg. You should not go it alone. Hire a DM writer is key to starting off on the right foot, as well as a targeted mailing list.

DM is not a one shot deal. if you do not make a commitment to it and learn from each mailing you will fail.

Let us know who you are targeting and we can be more specific in our recommendations.

    Thank you

If you have any friends that are a real estate agent they can get you a list of all homes that are currently for sale in an area.

    Hello,

I agree with Mikee. Start networking with realtors, mortgage professionals, home inspectors, CPA's and real estate attorneys.

There are some pre-movers files on the market but you would be better serviced by networking.

    Good luck

    Tom
