Enewsletter Or Eblast?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Please educate me: what's the difference between an eblast and an enewsletter?

I gather that one contains sales info and the other is informational?

Is it bad to mix the two?

It's all a matter of personal use and preference.

An enewsletter would clearly be a newsletter, while a "blast" could be either a newsletter or a promotion (although I'd think it's more likely intended to mean the latter).

Personally, I dislike the use of the word "blast" in this business, as it really makes it sound like you're just pumping out garbage email to anyone with a valid email address.

If you're giving thought to your content, your readers, their preferences, etc., you are not "blasting" email.

    "Blast."

In an email context, it makes my skin crawl. Feh.

Now, if you're referring to a keg party...

What's the difference b/w moonroof and sunroof?

Honestly an e-blast would be an irregular communication while the e-newsletter would be a regular communique.

The newsletter probably goes to opt-in list and the blast goes to whoever you can reach.

Customers vs prospects, though I wouldn't lose a customer over the definition. Let them call it what they want
