International Airline Promotion

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello, I am about to present a proposal to an International Airline. I had requested the Airline to sponsor my night club events. What are the best ways that I can promote this Airline to ensure that they achieve the most out of our agreement apart from using their logo on promotional material (flyers, posters etc) & handing out merchandise. The airline is new to this market and only does international flights. I am hoping to promote the airline nationally

The airline could become the official airline of your event talent.

People who show a ticket stub from a recent flight on the airline can get VIP table, free/discount admission, etc.

People in the airline's frequent flyer program can get early notice of upcoming acts, and be first to get tickets for them.

Sponsors do want you to promote their involvement.

Are there events outside your club that you can involve them? I did a large event, and smaller events leading up to the event we gave the lead sponsor the keynote.

Put their name on everything-- signage as you said, but include them in every press release.

I spoke to some of my airline contacts and they would definitely NOT want to participate in a night club event. (both domestic and international said the same)

If you're going to try, just bring in lots of demographic information about your club and why it is different that any other club.

    Best of luck!

How about hosting a specialty drink that's tied to a theme or name of the airline? You could offer one free or at a discounted price.

You could do an event or contest that's tied to the airline. The prize could be an airline ticket or upgrade or something. And the game could require the contestants to learn more about the airline.

You may want to tie in their website or web promotions as well. Hope that helps.

Some questions for you to ask yourself?

How big is your night club?
    where is it located?
Is it so big and famous that people are willing to fly internationally to visit your club?
If you were in charge of the airline marketing budget - why would you give money to a night club for a one off event?

marketers need to see solid return on their marketing budget. What is the upside for the airline?

Asking them for sponsorship money is probably not the right way to approach the deal.

if you really believe that you have a strong case, why not discuss some kind of X deal with them. You will promote a Specific product that the airline offers (i a certain destination or a special budget fare offered during the same month as your event).

You will give out coupons or promotional materials to guests in your club with an identifying code that they came from you.

The airline can then see the uptake of the offer and the strength of your audience/brand.

If the project works well then next time they may be willing to go deeper :)

    Good Luck.

    Matthew
