How To Target Pizza Shop Owners?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hello, what is the best way to target pizza shops? We are trying to market a telephony service to them.

The present strategy we came up was to send them a post card and then follow up by telephone call. That would be expensive for the entire campaign.

Is there a better way to reach these owners?

Thanks so much.

Why don't you just call them directly (or better walk in face to face) without the postcard? If you mail first, then call and you ask them if they got tht card-- their common stall is "I didn't see it". Then you create a stall, where the owner can say, "well send me something". Or, they say "I know what you do and I'll call if I need it". No postcard can portray the problem you solve for every pizza owner.

In this business, its best to walk in face to face. There are many owners that are not in the store at all. Those that are - are hesitant to make an appointment-- they never know when a rush order comes in. They can give a thousand excuses for not meeting via phone. In calling on retail outlets like this- I like to walk in and catch them on the fly.

I'd also target multiple owners first. I love sales where you sell them once but get multiple sales. A franchise owner often multiple franchises and those owners are rarely in the store. But they have regional offices and that is where you'll find the decision maker.

Focus on the problem your telephony service will be solving for the Pizza Shop Owners.

Contact them by mail or phone but talk about their service, their business, not yours. If you show interest in their business, they will show interest in yours.

    Hope this helps
