Product Category Competition; Apple Ipod

i am having trouble breaking down what firm has the same target market as a mp3-ipod to be specific but different product. would you consider the zune a different product becasue it still falls in the mp3 category?

    If your market is "compressed format portable music player equipment" - then Apple (iPod) and all mp3 player manufacturers would make up the competitors. Google "mp3 players" and you get 43,300,000 hits to choose from. One is a "Shopping" page so many of the competitors will be listed. All of these are targeting the same market.
