Cross Marketing With Companies Who Cater To Brides

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We are trying to cross market with local businesses. We have a inch loss body wrap company and recently teamed up with a couple bridal salons. We are considering marketing with a jeweler. Would that be beneficial for our company? Would they be able to send us clients and us to them in return? What other types of companies that cater to brides would be good for us to look into contacting?

In guerrilla marketing this is called fusion marketing.

As a recent bride-- just go to any bridal fair and you'll have a plethora of opportunities. Flowers, hotels, caterers, lazer skin care, Mary Kay, hair salons, photographers, officients, printers, travel agencies-- the list goes on. The freebies at these fairs are unreal. I won a $500 Mary Kay gift basket- she fusion marketed with a florist and included a gift certificate from a florist for a $25 "throw away" bouquet. The florist didn't even have to attend the fair and was getting leads from it. And the Mary Kay lady's basket had a greater value.

Other wedding related companies to partner with:
    Caterers
    Photographers/Videograpahers
    Florists
    Reception Halls
    Wedding Planners
    People that do invitations
    Event Rental Companies
    Event Planners

I think you will want some testimonials to share with these people. What have past clients said about your services.

I have never heard of this product/service. At this point you may just wanting to get the idea out there. That way when brides mention their desire, these vendors will remember your company.

I think photogprahers are one of the biggies in the list above since they are very image conscience.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

Mike-- its a girl thing- and most women are familiar with the service. :)

The "Suddenly Slender" franchise in CO (Littleton) does a great job of marketing. So while your ideas of fusion marketing as above are great-- I'd contact similar businesses in other (non competing areas) and ask about their successes.

She advertises a great first time special-- and is very good about selling a package once you are there. Her walls are full of Ms Colorado pix -- signed with "thanks Beverly" type soft testimonials.

I went-- and even though I am considered on the thin side-- that 50 year old woman thing was adding inches without a weight gain. So, besides thinking brides-- think of us. Us baby boomers have and will spend money on this-- and you can fusion market with the other things we shamelessly buy-- like our botox and restylane.

All of those suggestions are great (and I'm a huge believer in fusion marketing), but I would want to stay focused on how your product truly relates to other wedding vendors.

One I highly suggest is a baker that specializes in wedding cakes. After all, with your body wrap, "you can have your cake and eat it too!"

If you do fusion with jewelers, consider the tagline "Fingers Feeling Fat?".

Since your service is about quick improvement to your appearance, focus on some of these local businesses: book stores (womens' book clubs), swim/dive shops, dress/formal wear, dating services, employment agencies, and even home decorators.
