Trading Company Website For Donations

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am interested in soliciting vendors that we use in our community and offering them the use of our logo on their website in exchange of a % of their monthly gross income. We are a 501 (c)(3) so they will get not only a tax break but be able to say they sponsor the CHILDRENS CANCER CENTER. I need some kind of contract to use to protect ourselves-defining terms, arbitrations, etc...

I have had positive response on this so far, just need to take it to the next level.

Thanks -

Aside: you'll probably have better luck with a % of monthly net income.

Are you sure you want to do this? I'd be concerned that people would look at this as a paid endorsement; they may think that anyone can "buy" an endorsement, regardless of the quality of their work. That could hurt the credibility of the nonprofit. Definitely see an attorney, and don't just ask about the contract - ask about what effect this type of arrangement will have on the nonprofit.
