Business buildings or homes? What specific services do you provide, and who have been your clients in the past?

People would be interested in inspections before/after selling the building and for insurance reasons. Otherwise, a roof is out-of-mind until it fails.

Jay is right, as usual. It depends on who your primary target audience is. If it's home buyers, you'd use one strategy. If it's commercial buildings (for preventive maintenance), then the strategy will be different.

The one caution I would offer is that you should start your marketing effort by focusing narrowly on one small segment. See if you can get 100% of that segment, rather than 1% of a hundred different segments. It will help you develop a marketing approach that can then be expanded ... to include adjacent geographies, additional services (beyond roof inspections), and other market segments.
