Topic: Website Critique

Rightconsultant.com/uk Website

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Our site is designed for a similar audience as what this website attracts, so I thought it would be an interesting exercise to see what people think of our website.

At the moment the site consists of directory, articles, blogs and a forum section. In the coming months, we will launch products designed specifically for consultants, such as portals and a project management tool.

Our site can be found at https://www.rightconsultant.com/uk/

Do you find it easy to navigate? Is it easy to 'get'? What do you think of the design? Would you remember the site and make return visits?

I will be interested to read your thoughts.

Regards,

Ben

    Hi Julie,

Thank you for responding - it is indeed our site.

The boiler plate should be red so I would be a bit concerned if this is showing right on some browsers. I know the designers use iMac's which I believe use HD monitors so it might look good on an iMac and maybe not get the full benefit on other machines.

We are due a makeover soon, so feedback (good and bad) is much appreciated.

    Ben

The home page is too busy. It's not clear where my eye should "land" with all the competing colors and text.
Merge the left column menus with the top tabs.
Have you contact info shown on the footer.
The coming soon area text is hard to read with the font/size specified.

Great idea, but the site needs some work. The color scheme is way out of wack for a serious website.

I would start off by killing all of the redish colors and switching them to a more suble and powerful blue.

The consultant listings need to have a few more rules. If people will not upload a picture or a logo, I would not allow them on the site. The list showing all the default symbols shows poorly.

    Good luck.

Thanks all for your feedback. I will be meeting with our designers and marketing agency to discuss and see which can be done in the near future and which should be left until a later date.
