I would like some feedback about this site www.petalbackclothing.com.

My client wants to go back to their web company with some ideas of how to improve it.

I think it may be useful to add something to the 4 word tag-line "dignity innovation quality control" to also say that the products focus on ease of wearing for the physically challenged. I had to go to the about page to figure out what was actually on offer here.

The whole section in the middle of the home page which then links down to text lower down didn't strike me as that useful. maybe better to list on the front page a section:

    Solutions for

and then list the 4 categories you have. Each would link to a whole new page that covers what is important for that segment.

    Less text on home page.

2 column format, moving some contact info to bottom of page, and your "Petal Back Clothing, manufactures..." moved to the first paragraph of your website. Showcase the petal back feature visually, perhaps even in your banner.

The who-are-you/benefit should be moved off-page, and made into a benefits page itself.

Move featured petal back images "above the scroll".

    Hello Michelle:

I agree with the two stated above. It took me a bit to figure out what Petal Back had to do with clothing (until I actually saw the product) and the first two words in the tagline threw me off (again, until I saw the product).

I also agree the there should be an image above the fold of your product. I love the concept and it should be prominently displayed on the homepage. That goes for the About Us page as well.

Next, the "Tell Us Who You Are" sections should take you another page. This will eliminate scrolling which should be avoided if all possible on the homepage.

Now, as a Marketer, further enhancements should be made based on your marketing plan. How are you capturing website visitors? What are you doing to engage them to keep them on the site for as long as possible - to want to move through the pages? What will bring them back? With these in mind, you should have your own eZine or online newsletter for people to sign up for. This will help you grow your own database with people you know who are interested in your product to market to later. Offer them articles, anything beside press releases that are all about you. Give your website visitors useful information that changes, giving them a sense to want to bookmark your site. I don't recall seeing any call to action on your website. What are you doing for SEO? I checked out your source page and didn't see keywords listed. Your page titles need to say something other than the name of your company. Make good use of your keywords here.

These are just a few suggestions I have right off the bat. Hope they're useful. Good luck!

My first question when I visited your site was what are they selling. It took me about 40 seconds to figure out exactly what you were doing.

Unfortunately, if I were a shopper I would have already moved to another site by then. I do not believe it would affect the dignity of the buyer if you cranked up what you are selling just a bit.

I agree with what has been said. I, too, couldn't figure out what you do without scrolling to the bottom of the page. The text that is in the center column is way too long. Also, I would get rid of the orange text. I find it hard to read.

I agree with others that it is not easy to figure out what the site is about. This needs to be much clearer as people will move on quickly.

I feel like some of the prime real estate (top and middle) is used on fluff that does not add anything. I would like to see more images of the product right of the bat. I do not think it is necessary to have the "Are You" boxes in the middle of the page.

I was surprised when I got the the products page that the text was not a link, but I had to click on the image (images that do not really have much to do with the product, other than the shoes). I first tried to click on the text.

I think that the products need to be professionally photographed on live models. It would be great if the images of people were related to the product and not just pretty stock photos.

    I hope this helpful.

    Mike
