Gonzaga Interactive Viral Marketing Campaign

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
Hi,

We've been running our new viral marketing campaign for about a month and I was hoping to get some unbiased opinions.

No information is stored or kept...it's for video purposes only.

The site is https://www.inspiredseason.com

I would love to hear any feedback regarding presentation, what you liked/didn't like and what could be improved.

Thank you in advance for you help!

    Matt --

Glad to see an athletic department, which belongs to a slow-accepting group when it comes to viral marketing (I have a background in sports info), jump on the bandwagon.

Problem here is that I don't see where filling in information will lead me to video use. It might be too late at night or I'm overlooking a message, but I don't see how information for one helps perpetuate another.

Some missing pieces: An image of the coach, where Gonzaga is located (Washington state), what sport the Bulldogs play, and what purpose giving my name and phone number is to the team (and me).

    Hi Matt,

This is the second time you have posted this and you didn't listen to any of the advise that you were offered the first time :)

I agree with all of the above replies. Why are you hiding the video? Video is free all over the web :) Nobody wants to pay to see a clip :)

You are asking people to pay first (with information) to see a clip that they don't now what is in it :)

You say that you don't collect the info, if that is the case then why bother with the whole exercise :)

Here are a few quick tips on how you might make it a little more viral.

    1. Post the video everywhere:
    Youtube
    google video (brings great results)
    myspace
    hipcast
    kewego
kyte I am sure there are thousands more video hosting platforms I missed. Open accounts and post it on all of them :)

At the end of the video, be sure you have a screen saying something like 'See More Bulldogz Videos Now!' and a click through to the site.

make sure the links lead back to you bulldogs site.

When traffic arrives on your site, make sure that there is a great incentive offer for them to
a). sign up to receive regular videos by email; game results; player gossip and coaching tips etc. +
b). Forward this great video to their friends.

Incentive can be a FREE EBOOK (Sounds Corny, you will be amazed how well it works and how many downloads it gets. Just make yourself a great little PDF book with images of the players, player Stats, history of the team etc. etc. maybe 8 to 10 pages only, you can make it in 2 days).

There has to be an incentive to encourage people to give their info. (Don't ask for a phone number unless there is a specific reason to call them and it is made clear who will cal them, when and for what purpose).

Once you have posted the videos on all the sites, make sure that you digg, delicous and add them to any and all the bookmark sites that you can :) get as many inbound links to and from your videos all over the web as you can manage. if you get a team of 3 college volunteers working on this for 3 days, you will get thousands of postings in no time.

Please let me know how it goes :)
