Best Ads Of 2008?

Hi All:

We’re working on an annual of the best brand, positioning and direct response ads worldwide, and would like your suggestions.

What do you recall among the best ads of 2008? And what do you think made that it memorable, creative, and effective?

    The Apple Ad series are some of my favorite "Hi I'm a mac and I'm a PC". They are entertaining while getting the point across. Both the characters are endearing in there own way.

    "Colours like no others" from Sony. A visualisation of the consumer benefit in a inimitable way.

    The recent Apple iPhone ads were pretty catchy. Made me wish I could shake my phone around and play some pinball!

    A lesser-known print ad that really got me was a full-page Taj Mahal hotel ad, issued 1 week after the attacks. It was a simple, black and white and included the statement: "I have held my ground as human history has unfolded in its timeless procession of laughter and tears, courage and cowardice, good and evil. I will prevail".

    The hotel showed sorrow for the tragedy, gratitude towards its guests and optimism moving forward. It was timely and powerful. I hope the hotel does prevail.
