What is the subject of the film? That would help us identify where there would actually be a market.

Thanks, Kim, look forward to assisting you further.

The subject is about salvation, but it is made in a very creative way. We use animation to show how a circus owner created a place for his performers to live. Of course there is an evil clown who tricks the performers into signing a contract that makes them into his slaves. The only way the circus owner can set them free is to give them the ring master, who willingly give his life. It is fun but truth and has great visuals.

Also we have a short segment of what we call Usher Bob, he performs silly antics of what usher might do in different churches. It is really funny and most everyone we have shown it to loves it. They want to purchase it so I thought ok I can do this but how? I know if others are expressing an interest then there has to be a target audience somewhere, but I have no idea how to market these.

Thanks for your help and input,

Perhaps the simplest way would be to create a 1-minute short of your film, and upload it to the various free video sites (YouTube, etc.). The short gives a sample of the movie, perhaps with some testimonials, but with your website featured prominently.

Your website itself will have the short, plus stills from the movie, and more testimonials (on why it's such a great movie, who learned what from it, etc.). If you have supporting material (blog, ebook, etc.) you can attempt to build a network around the movie, providing something of value.

Lastly, don't overlook selling it on iTunes, Amazon, etc.

    Jay has great advice.

Are you trying to sell this particular movie or line up people to use you for other productions? It you are tryin to line up customers for other productions and get your name out there, put the movie out there for free on youtube and set up a facebook page for it so that people can become fans.

You can always put a lower resolution version on youtube and sell a dvd of a higher quality version for people who would like a higher resolution version.

The key is to get it out there. Make sure you get it on as many sites that you can.

Our church's communication director uses this site a bunch, https://www.churchmarketingsucks.com . You might see what kind of advice they have or if there is anyway to get the idea out there.

I don't think I exactly get it with what the short film teaches us. Salvation for a cost? Does the ring master represent Christ? Not on board with the thought process but I would like to be.

Who are the people who are interested in the Usher Bob? This is straight comedy? By knowing who has had interest you might begin defining your market.

Yes to answer your question regarding the ring master. It's bible not trying to get into debate.

And yes Usher Bob is comedy, the only audience I think that could appericate it is church, so how do you market it to church. Well I guess you could say both market to churches.

So how do I begin the process?

I think you will not have too much success trying to SELL a short like this.

My advise would be ot compress it for mobile and sell it as a mobile download

You will usually get about $3.00 for a download like this and you will earn about 50 cents per hit.

The problem is you need a full catalogue to get the mobile operators to pick it up, make 25 more like this one and then offer the entire catalogue to the mobile operators worldwide.

Over a year you can make several thousand hits but don't expect to become a millionaire with something like this :))

You may also get some interest from IPTV operators but again, you need a catalogue. 1 short by itself has little value.

    Good luck.
