Offline V Online Advertising?

Posted by Anonymous on 30 Points
Is offline advertising (leaflets, flyers, postcards, letters )still worth the money? Does it work still? Most of our advertising has been online (Google PPC, Yell.com and banner ads on alliances websites). Analytics shows how beneficial online has been for us, can't really measure offline activity.
Inevitibly we want our business coming through our websites online enquiry form, so makes sense that people see us whilst online.
My question is, is it still worth investing in offline material? Do people pick up and read it?

Depending upon the product or service, I believe offline advertising definitely works if it carries the appropriate message and reaches the appropriate market.

Additionally, I believe offline advertising results in traffic online.

Traffic online can then be tracked as a measure of the success (or failure) of the offline advertising.

Your question, "Do people pick up and read it?" causes me to wonder what type of offline material you're referring to. Brochures indiscriminately distributed in the hopes someone will read them rarely work. Printed materials that have a good offer, are targeted to the right audience, and delivered in a way that makes it easy to act now, always will. (Generalizations, of course)

What type of business do you have, and what methods are you considering?
