What Else Is Missing In Ladiesontour.com?

Posted by fordwincher on 250 Points
My friend and I have been working on improving www.ladiesontour.com . It is a website dedicated to support all women golfers. We believe that ladies' golf deserves the same support as men's golf does.

We beefed up its content by adding golfpod radio and we thought of launching a digital magazine as well.

I'd really like to know that if you're a golfer, would you be visiting our website regularly? Also, is there something worth adding to the website to increase traffic? Primarily, it's targeting the lady golf pros and we've invited them to sign up since some are already our friends but they're not doing it. We wish we could run promotions or competions but we don't have a budget for that yet. Do you think there is something wrong with what we're doing here?

Looking forward to all your feedback.

Many thanks!

Good morning and thanks for your post.

I'm a female golfer and I don't feel any "draw" to stay on or visit your site as it is now. The site content doesn't draw my interest in the way it is presented.

Also, your logo needs a professional design. It's really unclear and the header of your site is uninteresting.

Where's the excitement for the sport? Where is that communicated?

    Hi everyone

Firstly, thank you all for your valuable contributions….we have found them all very helpful and useful, and will certainly act upon many of the ideas.

There are some very basic and rationale reasons for some of the layout as is, in that the site is aiming to promote those tour players who do not get regular media coverage hence the portraits on the header (it is one thing that the players themselves favour greatly, and we receive a lot of positive feedback) - the golf course featured is where the last LET event took place last month.

As for regular news updates, we’re being limited to report about the tours at the moment but we’re aware that we should be reporting something else during the closed season. We’re still finding it hard to get material to write about, unless we guess, we get RSS feeds from relevant sites.

We often read/learn from the net that it is not a good idea to change the layout of the site but to concentrate on the content (and everything else you stated in your replies etc) but recently we have been debating the need for a cosmetic design change – we have just loaded a test site for a new design (none of the content is pertinent so may we ask you merely about cosmetic design and ‘interest factor?’) – and wonder if the newer design would appeal to you more – please see www.globalgolfgirls.com

We’d like to ask Marketing-Riot for some elaboration i.e. what would draw you to a golf site, time and time again? Is there anything in particular you are looking for from a golf site? Also, what is your interpretation of ‘exciting’ golf?

Bearing in mind that most players wish to improve their game and we are featuring a 92 podcast series of golf psychology and golf improvement we’re wondering why this would not appeal and draw a player to the site? Does not the fact that we are launching a unique online ladies golf magazine in the Spring also draw one to the site? We’d be really interested to learn more – thank you.

Thanks again to all of you for your contributions…
