    Hey there

I would definitely recommend having your own website as it will go a long way to reassuring potential customers about your professionalism.

There is a really easy and FREE one that you can use at Microsoft Office Live. They even give you the domain name for free, and email that goes with your domain name.

    Good luck.

If your clients will be exclusively on Facebook, then a Facebook page makes sense. However in all likelihood, people will want to find out more about you than a simple Facebook page. So, also have a website. I wrote a simple book that describes how to do this: Start Your Online Business in 28 Days Without a Lot of Money: An Easy Step-By-Step Guide (https://www.manygoodideas.com/store/)

Since you are starting a home based accounting service, I ma not sure why you even want to devote resources to building a site. I agree that it is good to build a little legitimacy for your image by having a web site but you could do better by creating professional profiles on sites like 'linkedin' and similar professional network sites.

Since I am guessing that most of you clients will be only a few miles from where you live, since you will need to meet with them and go over their papers, I would focus my efforts on marketing myself locally through business clucbs such as rotary etc. and handing out as many business cards as I can in the region.

Take a look at local news papers and free ad news sheets. These are inexpensive to get into and can find you one or two clients.

In your business, it is all about the network you can build. You don't need a lot of clients, you need a few who pay regularly and keep a steady stream of work coming through.

Go local, think local and build your handshake network.

    Good luck.

    Matthew
