superpages.com and others have free listings. Make sure you're in one of them. We put one client on 6 different free referral sites and can specifically identify business that came from them...in addition to being able to track traffic. No, not computer repair client.

You always have to ask: If I needed [your type of service] where would I look. Yellow pages? Chamber website? Craigslist?

These are static but what aggressive strategies do you have in place? Long gone are the days of hanging out the shingle and people coming to you.

Make sure your website is optimized and has keywords like "computer repair" and the typical words that people use when they google computer repair. Try googling 'computer repair" in your town or area and see which of your competitors come up on the first page. Don't focus on the one's on the right and very top as those are "Paid spots" Look at the words the top listed companies use on their site to get an idea of the things you should be saying. You may be better off spending your money on Search Engine Optimization that paid ads given the way people search for information today.
