Ideas For Marketing A Pest Control Business

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I have a client breaking into the Pest Control industry. The whole (small) team has experience working with one of the largest pest control firms in the world so they know what they are very competent.

We need ideas to get their name out fast and strong - not adverse to guerilla marketing, but would appreciate ideas from all arenas.

You should use a complementary combination of traditional and "new" media to market your business. Since we're all sensitive about opt-in arrangements with potential clients these days, you might want to use a line like, "We don't mean to bug you..." or "We don't want to be a pest ... and you don't want them in your home" -- then highlight the benefits of using your client's pest control service over another.

Emphasize the collective years of experience from your world-wide trained staff and what makes the business different than the others: non-hazardous ingredients, a guaranteed rate of success, "green" ingredients (tell the truth!) or other details.

To get out there fast, begin to use social media. Provide tips that apply to controlling particular pests this time of year and put out questions that potential clients could answer (eg, what is your biggest spring pest challenge?) and begin a dialog. Consumers like to do business with people they trust and this can help your company gain some quickly.

I can drive you buggy with more ideas, but think about these first and let me know if I can help further.

    Ally,

Didn't I see this on the three stooges?

I'm not a believer in yellow pages for most products, but this one I am.

Still a great SEO campaign is going to work well for this.

    Car wraps.

You can also target certain neighborhoods. If it was me? I'd be following the orkin man around and hitting the neighbors with a flyer that said. "Seen the pest control guy hanging around here? Where do you think all the pests go when they leave that house?"

    Michael
