Summer Sale Tagling For Retail Ladies Boutique

Posted by Paticake41 on 250 Points
I am preparing for my summer mailout (postcards) that will advertise our summer sale...we usually send out the cards with a 25% off total purchase at the end of May. I own an upscale ladies retail boutique in the south. Any ideas for changing up my sale stategy?

Thanks!

I suggest you emphasize value -- of your merchandise and service customers receive when they patronize your boutique.

Welcome visitors to your store to browse in the comfort of helpful, knowledgeable salespeople. Invite them to enjoy a snack during their visit and to talk about lines of clothes you carry. Ask them, "how can we help YOU?"

You may also want to enlist the help of a seamstress to take alteration measurements at your store. This provides added value and your customers don't have to make an extra trip when they need an item shortened or otherwise altered.

I prefer the buy 3 get one free to the 25% discount. But it depends on your line.

All of your responses are GREAT...just a note: I keep cold water and coffee on hand at all times for customers, and during special events, I have special desserts and pastries. I already have an alteration lady that is super!! The return on your purchase for alterations is within a few short days. Thank you, thank you...keep thinking.

Offer to schedule free fashion consultations. People call to reserve an hour's time, you help pick out clothing that's flatters their body and is appropriate for their needs. They spend less time shopping and find better clothing than they could do it themselves. Keep notes on their needs, and then follow up as new/appropriate pieces come in.
