Why not ask companies that do the wraps in your area what's worked well (and hasn't)? Or, ask their customers for their feedback.

    Jessica,
Most of them pass me by without me noticing. The ones I notice are if it looks like the back of the truck is open. Or the side of the semi has a big gash in it. Or a bunch of illegal aliens are sitting inside.

    Something that LOOKS dangerous.

Jessica, there may not be a great answer to your question. As Jay suggests, you might want to ask the folks who do vehicle wraps in your area what they have learned.

It's quite possible that what works in one industry, or one city, might not work in another. And the copy (including graphcs) will itself impact effectiveness. So even the same company in the same city could have two different approaches, with one working better than another.

Finally, I'm not sure there's a good way to actually measure effectiveness, even in the short term. I would think the vehicle wrap is just one element in a company's marketing plan, and most companies are not able to carefully control a marketing experiment so that they can actually measure what's working and what isn't.

The one place you could start, I suppose, is by making the assumption that traditional outdoor advertising would be a reasonable surrogate for vehicle wrap advertising. The similarities are probably more relevant than the differences. And the outdoor advertising industry has been doing research for years.
