Price is a function of perceived value of your offering. So, you'll need to show why your articles will help their business. Have previous articles that you've written increased sales of other company's offerings? Have they increased the number of leads? Increased circulation of a magazine? Make your price based on the expected return on investment that your customer will get from using your articles.

Jay is right, of course. (He usually is!)

We can probably be of more assistance if you'll provide more specifics ... What kind of articles? What kind of publications? Where (i.e., what geographic market(s))? Do you have a track record with similar articles? Do you have some particular expertise that might command higher fees? Are you well known in your field? Who is the target market for your customers (i.e., who are THEY targeting)?

There's no simple answer to the very general question you ask. Give us more information and we'll be glad to help you with greater specificity.
