Good morning! What is the gist of the newsletter? Is it mainly about winery news and events, or will the content be broader than that? Once you've nailed your communication objectives, the ideas should start flowing.

It depends on the winery and the demographics of your customers. Also, are they regular customers or are you just going out to the residence/businesses in the area.

    Chateau Name-of-Chateau News

Of course, you would replace Name-of-Chateau with the actual name of your Chateau. Yes, it is simple but you said it is mostly news and so on.

By the way, I think you should offer more than just an introduction of staff, projects, etc., but I would include information, reviews of your wines, things about the terroir of your location, and so on. If you do not mind my asking, what Appellation d’origine contrôlée (AOC) are you in?

It would be very interesting to know if you are sending this out on paper or if this is an email newsletter? That is, do you have permission to email this group?

If it is paper newsletter you are sending, you may want to include an incentive for them to come to your Web site and subscribe your email newsletter. Perhaps special discounts other incentives? Then it would be less expensive to send a more frequent email newsletter to the interested among the people receiving your *very* periodic paper newsletter.

This email marketing approach can open up fantastic opportunities to inform your audience and provide them valuable information about your winery. BTW, are you doing a different newsletter depending on the audience? I assume your different audiences have different needs?

(Aside: The information you're mentioning should already be on your website. The newsletter should have timely information about food/wine combinations, special offers, limited time tours, etc.)

With email you can link to things on your Web site and other sites so you will not need to cram as text in the email newsletter itself.

I realize you asked mostly about possible names for your newsletter but I think that the content and how frequently you send are just as important. I do not think that a few times per year will be enough to keep your audience engaged. If you have time to put together relevant, quality content you should consider sending out quarterly or even monthly.

BTW, I work for the StreamSend Email Marketing service but I am very interested in the wine industry as well. I go to wine tastings many Friday evenings and enjoy learning about wine so I am a member of several wine email newsletters. In addition, I subscribe to a well known wine publication. I see the potential here for you to do very well with your plans but consider going beyond the rare newsletter to something more regular.

    Is this English or French?

    New Vintage from Chateau _____.
Nouveau Vintage (from Chateau ___) Sorry, I don't speak French...

Some sort of play on whatever you call the release of a new vintage plus your chateau name. Again, sorry - I like wine, but am no connoisseur!

    Connoisseur du Vin perhaps?

Nouveau Vendange (of/from) Chateau _____. (Ok, I got into the online English-French dictionary...)

    It's late and I'm a bit punchy.

    Through the grapevine

    or just ...
    Grapevine

Just the skins (implying that once the wine is made ... its what is left .. kind of a take on just the skinny)

    (Name of Chateau) Uncorked!
