Graphic Designer Costs

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Need to update/upgrade graphic "mascot" for our company. Current graphic looks like a colored pencil sketch. Want final product to include camera ready art for use in print, web, etc. Rec'd estimate of $800; seems a bit high. What would be a reasonable price for this small project? We're located in So. Calif.

    Consider https://99designs.com/ or https://www.elogocontest.com/
These are both contest sites where you post your needs, and designers compete for your prize money. You get everything you need and a wide selection of options to choose among, at a much lower price.

It really depends on if you want good work or not. Sites as mentioned by Jay cater to hack and slash design, and if you're not concerned with quality, then by all means use one of those sites. If you are looking for high quality camera ready art, $800 is certainly reasonable to update. In fact, seems a little on the light side.
