Writers are constantly deluged with pitches. Unless you have a relationship with the writers already (and know what upcoming articles they need sources for), the next best thing is to study the types of articles they have written and offer your economist as a natural follow-on article to that story.

Alternatively, find reporters looking for economists for a story. For example, check out https://www.helpareporter.com/

Post some of your articles, or create blog posts from information and spread information across various article sharing and social media sites. Reporters frequently read these sources and bookmark those which they see valuable. While it may take time, the more often your client's credible information comes across their desktops, the better the chances that they'll remember it as a source and tap it for their publications.

I expect that since this economist has hired you, then results are expected.

However, as mentioned above, results come slowly :) Don't expect immediate results in just a few weeks r months.

Remember that there is huge competition in this space and thousands of writers and analyists are all trying to make a name for themselves.

Building a solid reputation (brand image) just takes constant work and lot's of time.

How many books has your economist had published?
How many Editorials have already been featured in what publications?
How many public speaking engagements have been booked and successfully delivered?
How many University degrees? endorsements? and other academic papers are there to back up the legitimacy ?
What about the employment resume? How many major names have hired this person in the past?

Try to get as much mileage out of all these as you can.

If no books are yet published, then quickly do a couple of 'Self Published' books. This can be done for as little as $2,000 online.

Doesn't matter if they don't make huge sales, the key is to have them published and get them up on Amazon then use links through form everywhere to quote from the books and show that they are on Amazon.

This builds credibility, no one really realises that they are self published.

Then you use this as Ammunition going forward. 'Author of 3 books" - 'Author of the controversial work 'xxx' " etc.

    Good luck.
