Best Way To Promote Online Commercials?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hello everyone,
I have a motivational clothing line and we are in the process of creating 5 inspiring commercials. They will feature basketball, yoga, breakdancing, womens fitness, and skate boarding...
We have tried to encompass many ppl and lifestyles...
My question is this... Other than putting them on YouTube and crossing our fingers, how can we get these viewed? We don't really have the budget to pay for viewership...

You can see a draft of our basketball commercial on YouTube at www.YouTube.com/withindustries
And out website is www.withindustries.com

Thx in advanced
Mikey

It depends on how much reach you need. The free/low-cost approaches are typically much more limited than the ones you pay for. (This is the "no free lunch" syndrome.) You can perhaps reach a few thousand people for low/no cost, but not millions.

More important, is the objective to sell stuff or just to get people to watch your commercials? If just to watch the commercials, why? If to buy something, then the call to action and the landing page/experience are probably as important as the commercials. Spend as much effort on the conversion process as you're spending on the commercials.

    Good luck. Hope this helps.

(Aside: Make sure your website URL is visible in your commercial -- at least at the end of the commercial. The goal of your commercial isn't to be seen - it's to sell product.)

If you have a social "following", all the above suggestions are great.
If not, then you need to start from scratch.

You want people to see your commercial that are your target audience. Also, you need to think - why should someone watch the commercial? It's 45sec of their time -- what are they getting from it? Is it educational? Entertaining? Empowering? If you're just selling, then it's hard to create a viral reason to spread the "watch this" message.

If you have something worth sharing, then you can mention your video on appropriate blog sites. Or, if your website gets sufficient traffic, co-market with a complementary business (they show your video on their site, and you .... ).
