Need Help What To List On My Business Card

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have a Virtual Assistant company. I offer a wide range of services to help small business people and realtors succeed by outsourcing their administrative tasks to me. Currently my business card is a little on the bland side. Please give me some suggestions.

First I don't have a logo yet. I'm working with someone who is supposed to send me a logo at no charge but he is very busy so I'm still waiting.

My card is black with white writing.

It has my name, my company's name, tag line (Virtual Staff..Real World Results), email, web address, phone and fax number.

I would like to list out some of the ways I can help. I thought about listing a couple things I can do in an hour on the back of the card. I want my card to give more information but not be too cluttered. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

After you have a logo secured (and art is important for an attention-grabbing business card and in the long term, for your visual identity), you can put a couple of your offerings on the back of the card -- even on the front if you don't use a lot of space for a street address.

I would bullet point your services and describe them in no more than 4 words each. Keep them simple, understandable and on-point.

Also, if you're involved with and potential clients may find out more about your offerings via social media websites, list your screen names along with your other contact information.

I used to do some work for a client whose business card folded out...lenghtwise...to about 2ft.

Inside had lots of easy tips for his target audience. Cost? About the same as making brochures.

    Just a thought.

Thanks for the insight so far. I forgot to ask one more thing. What about putting my address on my card is this critical? My business is based out of my home. Unfortunately I don't have a budget for a UPS mail box yet.

Well with you being a virtual assistant, it needs to look clean and organized.
You do need some kind of Logo or specialized font (Dont underestimate a good font, that is what many logos are made of) You can go to www.CoolText.com and play with it. Its free and might give you some ideas.
Once you get that down, make sure you are consistant and use it on everything. As for the address, just put your city/region that you work from. Many people use a home office, no biggie but you don't want your address floating our there. Good Luck!

White writing on black card isn't the easiest to read. Good contrast, but harder on the eyes (see: https://www.456bereastreet.com/archive/200608/light_text_on_dark_background...)

Your business card shouldn't be a brochure. Keep things to the minimum: your name, your tagline/benefit, contact information (you can omit your address for now, but do put city/state/zip to let people know where you're located), and website URL.

Instead of putting down the specific services, consider the types of businesses you help. That'll help people to think, "Oh, she helps Realtors like me. She'll understand my issues quickly.".

    Mason.

You don't really need a street address, but you should list the city.
