A Big Event To Help The Community

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am planning to but together a event that will help the community come together as one and help someone else out. This event would get volunteers together to visit local hospital, shelters, etc and give out gift baskets to people who are in need of the community help. I will like to know if somebody have ideas how can I approach the community to volunteer and get sponsors to donate items.

I'm not sure where you're located, but look up citycares dot org. This is an umbrella volunteer organization, and there is one in most major cities. They are a resource for all local non-profits. So, you could partner with them and reach all your volunteer organizations at once.

You might also try working with city organizations such as the local chamber of commerce. Local businesses may be willing to provide in-kind donations for the event, volunteers, and help spread the word. They would benefit from the exposure of the event, too.

If you haven't already, I would recommend creating a detailed plan. I'm not sure how much event planning you've done, but these types of events take a lot of time and effort, so just be sure to be prepared for that. Best of luck!

How about contacting owners and/or property managers of large commercial buildings or local trade organizations of BOMA, IREM, etc. There are many, many companies and individuals working each and every day in these buildings/parks and someone might be willing to partner with you.
