Best Online Distribution For Media Releases?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I provide marketing services for Australian medical companies selling internationally. In the past I have used BusinessWire to distribute media releases but now wonder if less expensive options such as PRWeb are equally suited to my purpose. For most releases it is useful to select specialist industry media as well as the associated press etc.

Yes PRWeb is excellent and of course there are fees.

An option is social media news distribution sites like -

    Digg
    Mixx
    Technorati

    and many more.

PRWeb supplemented with a free social media release service PitchEngine can give you great online coverage. PRWeb also offers search engine optimized release for more staying power online.

https://www.PitchEngine.com PitchEngine has a network of journalists subscribed to receive releases based on topic so that ensures you get additional online coverage.

Also submitting your press release to your own targeted media list will help get the word out to the right people at the right time.

You can also start a blog on Wordpress and post your release there. There are many options online to get the word out - social media, PitchEngine, etc.

I have use PRNewswire over the years - my research showed me that they had the largest number of media outlets. The other wireservices were less, but not significantly so, and often did not offer the additional service that a client may need.

On their 2009 US rate card they list US1 Industry Circuits - of interest to you might be their Health/Biotech rates are US$680 for the first 400 words, US$185 for each additional 100 words

On another note - lots of good stuff coming out of Australia these days - I have two Rode microphones for my video work - they are well-respected for quality, durability and value, and of course the Yellow Tail wines have taken the States by storm in terms of taste/value.
