Are you marketing in print or online? If it's online, doesn't matter too much, if it's print, you probably want to include the "www" to let people know it's people it's a website. Good luck!

Its both I guess. We are trying to establish a standard url to use consistently throughout all marketing efforts. Also, what do you think about capital letters in the url?

It doesn't matter now. In 1995 it mattered. Why? Because it's a standard. A given. Unless you need to visually align info, like in this case: TEL, FAX, WWW

There are many, many sites now without the www, and I just read an article which stated that this is the preferred format moving forward. If your site does have www as part of the domain name, then I would include it in all of your marketing consistently.

Eliminating the www can work for certain markets, but I've seen many people who still don't "get" that the www prefix isn't required. The www prefix clues them in that it's a web address.

As Steve mentions, do make sure that www.yourcompany.com and yourcompany.com both point to the same website.

The advantage to not using it is that it's easier for people to see your name and remember it. The www is just one more thing to remember, kind of like a phone number - if it's in your area code, you try to only focus on the last seven digits. When you're mentally repeating it to yourself, you don't include the area code. Same goes with www - it's assumed because the .com, .net or whatever at the end tells you it's a website.

Keep the www. Most people expect it and are used to seeing it. No need to change it. If people see it they know it's a web address. Why have people even think it may be something other than a web address if you don't use the www. I have people still spell out web addresses saying www at the beginning of the address even though we are talking about url.

You can't go wrong keeping it at the beginning
