Need Assistance In Creating A R/c Ad Insert.

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi.I represent BRC Models. We are the leading player in the world of Radio Controlled Cars, Bikes, Planes etc.We have a very good client base in our city and we also have stores in other cities.what makes us different is that we have physical stores as compared to e-commerce sites possessed by our competitors.
We now need to create awareness about the hobby to poeple who r not into it.But how will we do it?
We r plannin to come up with a newspaper insert to make people aware about such a hobby existing.
The cars and planes that we sell are fuel operated and are real fun.We want to let people know about it so that we have a better client base in the future.
A copy with a cathcy headline is what i require.

hey michael... tht sounds good...but the only concern is that we r making newpaper inserts to target people who dont know anythin about the hobby or who have heard about it...awareesss is what we are looking at...

Your thingy is nice but whether will it attract readers attention or not is a bit dicey.THe objective is to make people aware about R/C hobby as not many people know abot it.

Create an event. Have RC clubs show off their hobby and invite the public to see, watch, and try the various models (on test tracks, etc.). Special deals on day of event. Fun for the whole family.

Jay has a great idea with the event. If you can pair with a family-fun center in your area, even better. In our area there are several, like Mr. Biggs, Amazing Jakes and Brunswick Zone. Approach the manager and ask if you can have the event in their parking lot (they usually have a lot of empty space). Set up a track and let people race cars that you provide. This will give you exposure to a lot of people and give the business who's hosting it an added draw. Give everyone who comes something to take with them, including coupons or some other incentive to do business with you. Also, make sure to have a signup form for your e-newsletter (if you don't have one, you should). Give people a reason to sign up, like specials and discounts, notifications of events, etc.

    Ricky,

In my town the local store sets up a track----with stand---in the parking lot every Sunday. It's well received and a lot of guys I know take their kids....just to watch.

Professionally I have problems with ads designed for "awareness". People claim they can measure it..but it cost as much to measure as it does to create the awareness.

I'm a revenue man myself. I'm not safe. So we write ads that get noticed. Again, that's just who we are.

Hey...sorry guys for the late response...I was out of town for some time due to some urgent work...I am sorry Carrie. But i can see a lot of responses that will help in some form or the other.
How about an event where we attract sponsors. If we get good no of sponsors, the sponsors will try hard from their side as well to promote the event so that they receive mileage. This will give the hobby a lot of awareness.
Also, its never ever happened before in my city. So, it'll be good as we will have the first mover advantage.

I need feedback on my thoughts. Will help me further.

    Cheers.
