Speed Networking Event Advertising Promotion

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am planning a speed networking event for a local business group I belong to. We have a weekly meeting at lunch which usually has 40 people at it. We have had a Happy Hour before which had 60 or 70 people.

Details:
June 25th 5:30-8:00
Rising Roll Gourmet (the owner normally is closed during the evening. He is hosting the event and opening just for us).
Max people 60
Food: veggie and cheese trays, mini chicken sandwiches
Cost: $ 15 in advance $? at door
Each person will have 2 minutes to tell about theirselve after 4 minutes one side of the table will move to the next table.

I am working on commission for this event so I would like to see 60 people there. I am unsure if I should ask for more money at the door or offer an incentive such as a prize to those who preregister.
I want to emphasize that this will be very well organized and move very smoothly. Each table will seat 2 people and I will leave some space between each one.

I plan on posting on Linked In events, everyone in the business group will post the event on their groups that are local. We will send out the notice on our email blast as well.

Questions:
1. How to make sure people know they will get a good value for their $ 15 (how do I list the food)
2. Any other venues to advertise on.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you !!

You may want to consider promoting it through your local Chamber of Commerce. If you do that, then you may be able to get a local business to donate the pregregistration prize. It sounds like an interesting and fun event!
