Car Wash Advertising/promotions

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
I have just started a new car washing business and want to spread the word around the town. I don't know if I should do some advertising locally or even introduce promotions or offers to get it going. I really need to create a buzz. Any ideas?

First, don't be so stingy on points. That's the reason people answer questions, but I'll help just the same. Offer on site services and you don't need to advertise. Stop by larger offices tell the front office attendant that today only you're washing cars for $10 or some low number like that and ask her to announce that to the company. My office employs a car washing company 3 days out of the week keeping all of our cars clean and he get's $20 per vehicle.

Are there many other car washing businesses in town? If so, focus on what will make your business the better choice (not simply price - that's not good for your long-term business health): convenience (pick up/delivery), extras (full hand waxing, dent removal), etc.
