Please Critque Our New Web Site

Posted by bradleygt89 on 25 Points
Ok, so we have had our website up for about 3+ months now. This is the first website I have 'designed'. I used GoDaddies website tonight, with 10 pages available.

I have changed a few things on the Home and About Us pages because of feedback I received in the PR/Advertising forum.

My main question is we have had some traffic, but no responses and no one contacting us via the form.

What is the top 3 things I can do to increase responses and traffic?

Thank you,

eager to learn.

Brad

Change your page titles from the generic "Home" and "About Us" to something that's memorable/useful.

Study this report for your website (it got a 8 / 100): https://website.grader.com/wsgid/3189068/default.aspx

Make your contact information easily found on every page of your site.

    Dear Brad,

"I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work
the more I have of it."

    So said Thomas Jefferson (1743 - 1826).

You have much to do. Time is of the essence. Act. Now.

For a start, I urge, pray, and beg you to re-read my post to your question from last week.

All those things I said about pages and happy chaps standing in front of vans? It still applies.

Brad, as nice a chap as I'm sure you are your customers are NOT idiots. They KNOW what a van looks like. And sadly, the quality of vinyl lettering on the side of a van is NOT a redeeming sales feature.

All those changes in type face and colours of typefaces you got on every page?

Nuke them. Consistency throughout is vital.

And your discounted offers? The "flight to cheap" will fly you to bankruptcy. You're offering a premium product. Charge a premium for an all in one package. Installation, parts and labour, five year all inclusive guarantee, annual service for five years. The lot.

That HUGE logo on your home page? S'gotta go dear boy!

Contact page? We do not scroll to get to fields we are expected to fill in. We want this information where we can see it. Above the imaginary "fold" represented by the average browser window. With me? Makes the form more visible and therefore, all the more likely to be filled in.

You also need a more compelling offer, two boxes for name and e-mail address, and a "Give me my free report" button. And you need a free report to actually give people.

These things should keep you busy for a while.

    Re-read this www.marketingprofs.com/ea/qst_question.asp?qstID=29204#186506

    Then move from there.

    I hope this helps.

You're stuck on "features" instead of benefits. You're talking to me about yourself, your products, etc., instead of what I get by buying them. ME ME ME I want to hear about me! (No, I'm not conceited or vain, I'm a buyer. I don't care how long you've been in business, I care about what's in it for me!

For instance, you talk about different systems and say the price may be higher if I don't have a LOOP. I neither know nor care what a loop is. What I want, and I what I want you to talk to me about is what Gary and I both said in your previous question: safety, purity, health, peace of mind.

Tell me I'll feel better about the water my family drinks. Show me how happy other people are with your systems (testimonials). Offer me a free water analysis and safety test (right up front) and ask me to schedule an appointment.

Say "we" and "us" less, and "you" and "your" more.
