Slogan For Academic Tutoring Company

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am doing the marketing work for a new tutoring company called bicycle education (currently getting business cards made). The current tag line is: Work Less. Travel Further. I have the ability to change the tag line if I want to? What's the immediate take away from the current name and tag line. What would be the long term result of a new one?

Thanks a bunch,

Ki from Berkeley

It's a complete misconnect for me. Maybe because I'm not on campus. (unless you mean Berkley, IL)

If it's working stick with it, but my sense is that it is not.

    How about "We're pedaling A's"

    or

    "The 2tor Di' fference"

My concern here is that you are going to have to work hard on PR and Adveritising for this one. The name of the company is your brand but neither the title or tag line say anything to what the company will actually be doing.

If this is a tutoring company, why let your customers have to guess about what your company is about...it is great to intrigue but lets not have them search too much.

I have to say that I love that tagline but it doesnt let me know what they do; i.e. if they were giving out promotional items with that name and tagline people are just going to be left clueless...

    Tagline suggestions:

    - Tutoring experts at your service
    - Your pedalling tutoring experts
    - Tutoring experts that allow you to travel further
    - Travel further. Let us tutor you.

The point is that you need to get what you do out there in the front. There are so many different messages out there; jump ahead of the clutter.

I'm in agreement that the name is confusing to your prospective clients. If you're committed to the idea of "bicycle" in the name (maybe all the tutors arrive to your room via bicycle?), then add tutoring to the name, such as: Red Bicycle Student Tutoring.

Wow!! Thank you so much. This is an amazing site. What a great tool for ANYBODY in marketing to have access to. I appreciate all your responses.

When I first heard the name I thought the tutors biked to each household. I agree the name is misleading. But so is Apple. What the founder likes about it is that it's different. All the other tutoring company names are Revolution, Compass, Kaplan, Princeton Review (either proper names or 'guiding' words). The bicycle difference is a symbol of our younger, more efficient approach to tutoring.

I agree with the point of having tutoring in the tagline, if not in the name. What do you think about:

    - the effective tutoring approach
    - tutoring and & SAT prep
