Getting National Recognition

Posted by larry.sebbens on 25 Points
Fairly new to pitching national publications. We are a smaller regional investment firm with 60 year history. Good performance and track record but not well know outside of our metropolitan region. Is it possible to gain interest of national publications without hiring a PR firm? If so, how best to go about it?

If you don't already unqualified successful PR capabilities, it is best that you hire that service out. In these times it is nearly impossible for DIYers to break through to those nationals. Even "back in the day" they expected (though vehemently denied it) complementary paid-for advertising. They did, ultimately run our in-house PR. My recommendation is that you have a really good hook, with stats, good info, client survey info, etc.

    Either way, good luck!
