Topic: Customer Behavior

Nightclub/ Entertainment Goers

Many night clubbers book tables through promoters.. they call the promoters and request it.. they are normally regulars and know the promoters..
promoters from experience state that normally they will just book the table when they are at the club or on that same night.. they rarely prebook in advance.
(Promoters always prefer to take cash in hand for entrance to the clubs)

A lot of pre booking for tickets and events are going online now.. but promoters believe that their customers/regulars will never book a table online.. nor will they pay for entrance online.. my argument is that in fact they might prefer to prebook it as they are guaranteed entrance so no headache of... "we might not get in"
Also booking a table online works pretty much the same way.. they know there is one available and not deal with the headache when they arrive to be turned down a table.
I wanted your opinion on the matter.. do you think booking via online would work or be popular amongst regular club goers??
and not just regular goers anyone for that matter!!
your feedback would much appreciated

Many thanks

Never been at a night club, for this reason here are a few questions.
Do promoters get a commission? Will the client get any advantage/incentive to book and pay on-line?
Do promoters seek clients or vice-versa? Or both?
Can't you do a little search to discover if clients(how many) would feel comfortable to book on-line? Probably they are the first people to ask.

If actually clients do use only promoters, could the on-line market get into a different niche of market?

    Hi

Yeah promoters recieve commission on every table sold
I think promoters think that online will do more damage than good..because a lot of promoters take cash for the entrance... they dont want to declare the money.. i think that is the main reason why they dont want to go online and also because they just cant image clients actually pre booking online for clubs... but i disagree i think it would be better at least they will know they have their table for sure waiting... and that they can get into the club. many times people turn up and cannot get tables or r refused entrance..however saying many people go to eat and then on impulse decide to go to a club and then while there again decide on impulse to get a table. Thats what happened to us last night.. turned up a club and then decided to get a table. I guess it depends on your going out habits and the actually night. I agree i think the best people to ask is the clients themselves.
Thanks for your response.. in terms of niche.. what do you mean by that?
I was thinking of just talking to the actually club owners themselves and giving them a percentage of the entrance...promoters dont do that currently.. the clubs make money from the drinks sold and the promoters from entrance and commission on tables

As a customer who decide (plans) to get a table I would prefer to be sure to get one. I don't like to waste time and if I take/invite friends with me I like not to waste their time too, so I would use on-line booking. Different story if I don't have a program and decide on the spot.
To make a long story short...I like to have options, as most people do.

About the "new niche", I wanted to say that maybe (not sure) some people could just book on-line because you give them that opportunity, like when before the cash of the supermarket you see chewing gum and chocolates...ok, take one, it was not on the list but... (weird example).

Please take in mind that I'm not a mktg expert but just a man from the street.
