Tanning Salon Grand Opening Idea... Something Big

I just joined this site and have learned alot so far, it has been so informative. I am the owner of two rather large tanning salons in a town with a population of 100,000. LOTS of competition all around me. I've bought the two salons this past year and have done really well with them so far. I'm finishing up the remodel on the second salon as we speak. My plan is to have a grand opening that has a wow factor. Something to leave people talking about it for months. We had a car dealership a few years back do a survivor challenge, where the last person standing with their hand on a car actually won the car. People are still talking about that. Have a few ideas.... Giving away a tanning bed, doing some sort of deal or no deal (not sure how that would work, employee suggestion). Just having a hard time coming up with something related to tanning. Thank you in advance for any ideas!!!

    Why not have a theme party for your opening.On the lines of a beach party (tropical set up , tanned looks .....) along with a contest for the best looking couple and you can give away gifts like the tanning bed or gift coupon for a free service at your salon or a vacation coupon for a trip to a real beach/stay or any other related products that you deal with.
