The possibilities are endless!! You can offer anything from paid vacation days to 1st-5th place prizes (depending on how many people you have...generally, created a placement hierarchy equivelent to 25% of the team. For example, if you have 20 salesmen, have them compete for 1st-5th awards, 100 salesmen compete for 25 spots, etc.).

You can give them "bonus" awards every week for signing on a certain mixture of clients...perhaps the biggest bonus going toward landing accounts in demographics which are lacking the penetration you desire.

Can I also suggest looking at incentives aimed at reducing churn rates. The initial sale has a much higher cost-of-sale than a renewal for almost all risk types, particularly life, trauma and loss of income type policies where the underwriter is paying the initial medical exam costs.

Skewing the commission in favour of longer-term trail would tend to focus the consultants not just on selling new policies but also on ensuring renewals occur in a timely manner.
