New Agency Needs Help With Video Production

We are a new agency and are expanding our events/promo/ and video production services. The Video production will include things like videos made for viral marketing campaigns all the way to commercial made for TV.

I have been a working actor for several years and know about production quality and things of that nature and was wondering how most marketing companies offer all these services such as commercial production and video production? Do most marketing agency's contract out this work to a production company or do agencies have in house production companies?

We are a relativley small firm now but have much potential to grow. I am just curious as to what other marketing companies do for video production because I have noticed that so many offer these services.

    It used to be that just about every agency used outside production companies. But now that everyone can be a producer, videographer, actor, editor and all-around production company all by him/herself, two things have happened: (1) the number of options has increased dramatically, and (2) the average quality of video productions has dropped considerably.

    So now what happens is most productions are done by newbies who don't really understand video, and quality is generally worse. Of course, there are some really talented folks too, so you can always get lucky.
