How To Describe An After Party

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
A group of us are throwing an after party after a show in the spring. It is being hosted at a hotel ballroom instead of a nightclub because the area we are in doesn't have any. The hotel is one of the best that you can find in the area and is extremely stream line and modern.

I am able to customize lighting and turn it into a club like environment easily. We have one of the best DJ's in the state at the helm of our after party. The theme for our party is Gold.

Most people that throw after parties talk about the nightclub they're having it in, but since we are having it in a hotel, I can't find a way to describe our party in the most appealing manner.

There will be around 300 people there and is mostly for people between the ages of 18-35. The demographics in terms of ethnicity, would be South Asian.

Could you please give me a few suggestions on how to effectively make a description of the after party for me to put out on our website?

Why not name the hotel's ballroom for the event? If it's at "Hotel Swank", then call the location "Club Swank".

Jay has the right idea. Come up with a description that makes the hotel sound like a better version of the "ordinary" club ... and use the word "club" to indicate that the atmosphere will be that of a club.

It sounds like you've done something that will really make your party stand out. Nice (and creative) solution.

South Asian - you doing karaoke? If so, call it the "Gold Karaoke Party at xx Hotel".

Even if not, you can likely ignore the lack of a club name and instead use the hotel name. Something like "Going for Gold After Party at xxx Hotel". Using the hotel names gets out where it is (which is important). Talk up the DJs and what you are doing, and don't bring up the perceived weakness of not having it in a nightclub.

Thank you for the advice, the club "..." idea I am definitely going to use!
