How can I get free or cheap TV and magazine ads for putting in my presentations? Adforum and adcritic (Creativity Online) charge.

What kind of presentations? Who is going to see these ads? Can't you just request permission to use them from the advertisers? Are you selling your presentations?

I would think you can cite magazine ads without permission as long as you disclose that they are publicly-available ads that you saw in a magazine or newspaper. Ditto if the TV ads are on YouTube.

They are client presentations about branding and marketing. The ads serve as examples. And yes, I can request permission to use the ads, but that's a fairly involved and lengthy process if you need a whole bunch of different ads. And YouTube videos are encrypted.
